Agriculture & Agribusiness
Nigeria's agricultural sector employs over 30% of the workforce and generates billions in annual revenue — yet farm equipment theft, produce hijacking, and worker safety in remote areas remain critical unresolved challenges. Akilapa Guardian is built for the realities of Nigerian farming.

Threats to the Nigerian Agricultural Sector
- Harvest Season TheftTractors, pumps, and harvesting equipment are most vulnerable during planting and harvest seasons when site activity is high and criminals exploit the chaos.
- Produce Transport RiskProduce trucks on the Kaduna-Lagos and Kano-Lagos corridors face hijacking, unofficial diversions, and outright theft — particularly during early morning hours.
- Remote Worker SafetyFarm workers in remote fields in Borno, Zamfara, and Plateau are among Nigeria's most vulnerable employees with no communication or emergency tools.
- Equipment Financing BarriersAgricultural banks and development finance institutions require verifiable asset tracking as a pre-condition for equipment loans — creating a barrier for farms without technology.
