AI Driver Safety Scoring
A composite driver safety score — updated after every trip — built from speed compliance, harsh braking, rapid acceleration, cornering behaviour, fatigue indicators, and route adherence. Supports driver coaching and insurance telematics programmes.
How it works
Driver Scoring uses multi-axis telematics data to produce a fair, explainable safety score that reflects actual driving behaviour — not just GPS speed.
Step 1
Telematics Event Capture
The IoT device captures G-force data (braking, acceleration, cornering), speed vs. road-type limits, idling duration, late-night driving, and phone handling events at 10Hz resolution.
Step 2
Trip Analysis
Each completed trip is scored across 11 dimensions. Events are weighted by severity — a 1.2G emergency brake scores differently from a 0.4G gentle deceleration.
Step 3
Rolling Score Calculation
A 30-day rolling average score is calculated per driver, using exponential weighting so recent behaviour is more influential than historical data.
Step 4
Leaderboard & Coaching
Fleet managers see a ranked driver leaderboard. The lowest-scoring 20% of drivers are automatically queued for coaching, with personalised feedback generated by AI based on their specific event patterns.

Driver scores are GDPR and NDPR-compliant — drivers receive access to their own scores via a dedicated driver mobile app. Privacy-by-design: driver scores are not shared with third parties without explicit consent.
